Join us today, help to save the heart of a child! Help to give others a chance at life ...
To unsure that 100% of your donation goes to life saving research of congenital heart defect, designate all your funds raised to the Zachary Brooks CHD Endowment. Bowling for the Heart of a Child 4th Annual ~ 2004 |
Bowling for the Heart of a Child 3rd Annual |
Our 3rd annual bowl a thon was a lot of fun. The turn out was a bit smaller than last year, but we were still able to raise nearly $9,000 for life saving research in congenital heart defects through the Zachary Brooks CHD Endowment. We had a very special guest this year as well, Kyle Kaylor. Kyle is a 7 year old living with a congenital heart defect. He knows his limits and tires easily says him mom Kelly, but it is truly a blessing from above. |
Our top pledge collectors for this year were, Gerry Baer with over $1,500 Kyle Kaylor with over $1,200 Dave VanderWood with $325 Chris Lemonds with $270 Leasa Baer with $230
Thank you to all our wonderful bowlers. You are all a huge part in helping to improve the lives of children born with a congenital heart defect. It is because of you that this event was a success. Below are some pictures of Bowling for the Heart of a Child, May 3rd, 2003 at the Chez-Ami Lanes. |

Wow, it is so hard to believe that our 4th annual, Bowling for the Heart of a Child has happened already. This event was started in 2001 in memory of our baby boy Zachary who passed away at 6 months old during surgery to repair one of his 2 congenital heart defects. Since then, we have had the honor meeting others affected and sharing their stories at our event as well. This year, Little Thomas was our honoree. Thomas faught a great fight against his congenital heart defect. He was truly a brave little soldier. In the end, his little body just grew to tired ... God called him home to be one of His angels when Thomas was just a few months old. Thank you Scott and Jackie for sharing Thomas with us and everyone that attended this years, Bowling for the Heart of a Child.
I am also proud to say that this year was our best year to date!! We were able to raise $12,303 to help improve the lives of those born with a congenital heart defect! The majority of this money will go towards research of congenital heart defects through the Zachary Brooks Endowment. Although, $500 was given to the CHD Awareness Quilt Project to help in their efforts of raising awareness of congenital heart defects.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this years event such a HUGE success!! There is no way we could have done it without all the support.
